Her Teen Lovecoach was written to at first help any teenage girl who is growing up without all the guidance and counseling that so many need to have the best chance at living a positive and productive adult life. After reading and editing it several times, it became clear to me that any teenage boy could benefit from understanding how teens think and feel. It has been proven time and time again that the unproductive decisions and rash choices some teens make decreases their chances of eventually being open to having a loving, supportive partner in life. My goal is to help everyone have love, kindness and a supportive mate in their lives for a long time to come!

Foreword: A Guiding Light for a New Generation

Author: Aaron Clemens

Founder and CEO of We Save Teens, a non profit foster care charity www.wesaveteens.org

For much of my life, the world felt like a place where I was easy to forget. As a teenager in the foster care

system, I knew what it felt like to be vulnerable, to be uncertain about where I belonged, and to face a future

that seemed cloudy at best. The world was loud, but it was a noise I felt I was watching from the outside. I was

searching for my place, my identity, and most of all, for someone to believe in me. I was waiting for a beacon of

hope. That beacon came at a pivotal moment in my life. When I was 13, two compassionate parents from Palm

Beach opened their hearts and their home to me. Their decision to adopt me changed everything. It wasn't just

about having a roof over my head; it was about finally feeling seen. Their kindness was the catalyst that sparked

a powerful commitment within me: I would spend my life ensuring no other teen felt forgotten or without hope.

My gratitude and new sense of purpose led me to create We Save Teens, a nonprofit organization dedicated to giving back to the foster care community. What started as a grassroots initiative grew into something far greater, offering mentorship programs, educational resources, and emotional support to hundreds of young people. My firsthand understanding of the system's challenges became the cornerstone of our mission. I’ve seen the incredible resilience and potential that exists in every single teen we work with, and I’ve seen how a little bit of guidance and a lot of belief can completely transform a life. It's through this work that I've come to understand a deeper truth about the teenage journey. While We Save Teens focuses on the broader issues of stability and self-worth, I’ve seen time and again how romantic relationships—or the search for them—can be a source of profound joy and equally profound pain for the teens we serve. These experiences are a fundamental part of growing up, and they can shape a person’s emotional foundation for years to come. This is why I was so inspired by Bruce Starr's original vision for, “Her Teen Lovecoach.”

When I first read about Bruce's desire to share his own wisdom—to answer that age-old question, “If I only knew then what I know now?”—I immediately saw the connection between our two missions. Bruce’s book was born from his own journey, his own first experience with love and the pain of being unprepared for its disappointment. His goal has always been to offer a guiding hand to young women, to help them navigate the emotional complexities of young love and avoid destructive mistakes that can leave scars. This revised edition is a fusion of our two perspectives. The wisdom Bruce offers on relationships is a vital, practical component of the self-worth and resilience we strive to teach at We Save Teens. This book is no longer just a guide to relationships; it is a guide to building a strong and confident self. It’s about understanding that your true worth isn't defined by who you're with, but by who you are. It’s about learning to withstand disappointment and celebrating your own successes.

My journey taught me that romantic love is only one piece of the puzzle. The relationships that truly provide stability are the ones with family, with friends, and with mentors. This book now speaks to the importance of all these bonds, encouraging you to build a strong support network that will sustain you through all of life's ups and downs. It is a call to action to value your own integrity, your own dreams, and your own well-being above all else. When you know your worth, you are less likely to accept a love that diminishes it. My life’s purpose is to light the way for others, to show that even in the darkest moments, there is hope. By combining my story of resilience with Bruce’s practical guidance, this book offers a complete and holistic view of what it means to grow up and thrive. I hope that within these pages, you will find more than just advice—you will find an empowering lifeline. You will find the strength to navigate your own journey, the wisdom to learn from your experiences, and a profound sense of your own worth. Your story is still being written, and I am here to tell you that you hold the pen.

This book is a labor of love, a reflection of the guidance and hope I was fortunate enough to receive. If this message resonates with you, I invite you to join our mission. You can make a real difference in the life of a teen who, like me, is looking for a brighter future.
