9 Steps to Break Out of Old Limiting Habits

More on Forgiving with The LUVCOACH Bruce Starr

You can do it instantly! All you have to do is be willing to let go of years and years of anger and bitterness. Don't let your ego mind stop you from trying this new approach. Don't let the dark side of your mind tell you it is too difficult to do or that it might take years to accomplish. If the old way of thinking worked, you would be a happy and fulfilled person by now.

Ask yourself, "Do I want to hate or be angry with another person if I'm the only one feeling hurt?" Hate and anger toward others only hurts us. The person whom you feel has committed an act of indecency may not even be aware of your anger. He may have long forgotten the event. While you continue to fume and allow him to negatively effect your life, he is living his life unaware of your feelings.

Here are some steps you can take to forgive.

Step 1. Be willing to admit whom you've held a grudge against and why.

Step 2. Be willing to love yourself enough to let go of pain that has been with you for years.

Step 3. Be willing to accept them or yourself in another light.

Step 4. Admit that you are a very powerful person and you were the one who decided to take an action or allowed a certain person into your life.

Step 5. Change your mind that mistakes require punishment.

Step 6. Visualize yourself cutting a chord that has kept you closely bound to the person you have not forgiven.

Step 7. Bless the person for being there to teach you the lesson about life and love that you needed to learn.

Step 8. Send unconditional love to that person and yourself for a job well done.

Step 9. See everyone as different spokes on the same wheel. By forgiving others you forgive yourself
